RTC denies Vhong Navarro’s motion

Taguig Regional Trial Court denies Vhong Navarro’s motion for reconsideration on previous court’s decision to grant Cedric Lee, Zimmer Raz and Deniece Cornejo bail on their Serious Illegal Detention case.

According to Cedric and Zimmer’s legal counsel, Atty. Howard Calleja, the court’s decision proves that the previous decision was right.

Deniece’s attorney, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio also said, “By the said order, the earlier findings that the evidence of the prosecution was weak and that our client should be granted bail has been given validation.”

However, Atty. Alma Mallonga, Vhong’s attorney, says the fight is still not yet over because the court has just validated the bail grant but the court has not decided yet on the case itself which is serious illegal detention.

“I have talked to Vhong. He is determined to fight to the very end. We know what the evidence is. We have seen it with our very own eyes. A crime has been committed here. And that’s why Vhong is pursuing this case. How can they (Cedric’s group) be relieved of criminal liability for committing a wrong? As far as the prosecution is concerned, the fight continues,” said Mallonga.

It could be remembered that Vhong filed a case last January 2014 for the violence that had happened to him in Deniece’s condo unit by Cedric, Zimmer and others.
