The “Year in Search 2014” released by Google Philippines last December 16, stated that Kapamilya actor Vhong Navarro was the overall most-searched term in Google in the country in 2014.
The actor’s involvement in a beating incident at a posh condominium unit in Taguig City last January of 2014 were so widely followed by Filipino netizens that even the other people involve like Cedric Lee made it in the overall top 10 search terms.
Google Philippines said in a statement that trending queries on the search engine reflected the interests and pressing issues that Filipinos cared about in 2014.
