Mariz continued by saying that she was shocked and did not expecting for President-elect Rodrigo Duterte to act in such manner.
“I must admit, talagang nakakagulat na mayroon ganoong statement or mayroong ganoong actuation from the President-elect himself pero I continued to concentrate on my question.”
With regard to hoe she personally felt after being catcalled by the incoming President on national television, Mariz stated that she had to remind herself of the President-elect’s iconic image and character.
“Kahit na ano yung naging situation, inisip ko nalang na I must understand na talagang baka pala-biro lang talaga itong si President-elect Duterte based from how I know him o kung ano yung mga alam ko doon sa kanya ng mga coverages ng mga ibang reporters, so minentain ko nalang yung composure ko. I tried to understand what the situation was and tried to get my answer, which I did.”
