Filipino’s disappointment and frustrations for the result of the 63rd Miss Universe pageant was directed to the gowns our representative MJ Lastimosa worn during the competition.
Netizens have stated that she might have a greater chance of winning the crown or even just reaching the Top 5 list if a Filipino designed gown is what MJ ramped on the stage and not the one designed by a foreigner.
There are also rumors that MJ allegedly asked Miss Universe Philippines head Stella Marquez Araneta if she could wear a pink Leo Almodal dress for the evening gown portion instead of the one she wore by Colombian designer Alfredo Barraza.

And on January 27, 2015, MJ shared a picture on her Instagram account wherein she was wearing an elegant blood-red gown made for her by Leo Almodal. Is this her way of showing what gown suited her best?
With her post, she sparked opinions from Netizens that she really should have worn the gown designed by Leo Almodal who has been designing fabulous gowns for our representatives in the Miss World pageant like that of Megan Young’s. He also designed gowns for celebrities like Marian Rivera, Kim Chiu and Maxene Magalona.
