Days after the annual Miss Philippines Earth beauty pageant coronated its new queen, video snippets of Miss Zamboanga Bellatrix Tan’s question and answer segment went viral on various social media websites because of her answer.
During the first question and answer segment of the said beauty pageant which took place at the UP Theatre in Diliman, Quezon City last Saturday (June 11, 2016), the contestants had to randomly choose a national issue which they have to address in a matter of seconds.

For Bellatrix’ case, the 20-year-old Zamboanga City native had to come up with a solution or a plan that can efficiently help the nation deal with El Niño and La Niña.
“El Niño is what we are facing right now. If we do simple things like planting trees, then we will not experience drought, right? So, if we start now, we will achieve La Niña.”
It can be heard in the video snippets uploaded on various social media websites that some of the pageant’s live audience bursted in laughter upon hearing Ms. Zamboanga’s answer.
As of writing, neither Bellatrix not her camp has released an official statement or comment concerning the issue yet.
