Manny Pacquiao apologizes to Boy Abunda and Vice Ganda

People’s Champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao offered a public apology to the entire LGBT community—particularly to the King of Talk Boy Abunda and Kapamilya comedian-host Vice Ganda— for making an “offensive” statement about same-sex union.

In a phone patch interview with Karen Davila and Vic de Leon Lima on dzMM’s program “Pasada Sais Trenta” last Wednesday (February 17, 2016), Manny extended his apology addressed to the members of the LGBT community.

Along with his public apology, Manny explained that he was pertaining to the “act” he was referring to in his controversial “Bilang Pilipino” interview. He also clarified that he did not mean to offend the LGBT community by explaining,

“Ako po ay humihingi ng paumanhin sa inyo kung nasaktan ko man kayo sa ginamit ko na word, sa pagkumpara ko sa tao sa hayop. Pero explanation ko po kasi iyon, opinyon. Ang ine-explain ko po doon ay ang paggawa, hindi po ‘yung LGBT na sila. Kung nakasakit man ako, nandoon pa rin ang paniniwala ko na hindi ako pabor sa same-sex marriage.”
