American Idol launches its farewell season

Phenomenal American singing competition “American Idol” permanently bids farewell to all viewers after 14 life-changing and influential years in the Hollywood music industry.

The infamous singing competition was patterned from the British series “Pop Idol.” The show premiered in June 2002 with celebrity judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell together with hosts Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman.

Fourteen seasons later, “American Idol” now has an entirely new set of panel namely Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr. On the other hand, Ryan Seacrest continued hosting the competition after Brian left the show.

Throughout the years, “American Idol” produced record-breaking artists that individually left a mark in the music industry. Some of which are Kelly Clarkson (Season 1), Carrie Underwood (Season 4), Chris Daughtry (Season 5 finalist), Elliott Yamin (Season finalist), Jordin Sparks (Season 6), David Cook (Season 7), David Archuleta (Season 7 runner-up), Kris Allen (Season 8), Adam Lambert (Season 8 runner-up), Phillip Phillips (Season 11), and Jessica Sanchez (Season 11 runner-up).
