Actor and TV host Alden Richards was in tears when he was reading a poem that was supposed to be written by Alden himself, dedicated to his onscreen partner Maine Mendoza.
The entire exercise was actually a challenge or request made by Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola). Maine was intently watching and listening to Alden as he reads his poem.
After reading the poem, Alden asked Maine if she can be his Valentine to which Maine replied Yes.
The entire story took a different turn when Lola Nidora asked both Alden and Maine if they are ready to fall in love. Alden said said that he is ready, but Maine took some time to answer the question to the point that she was also teary eyed. Alden hugged Maine to comfort her and then Maine decided to leave the stage.
Fans and followers of the EB KalyeSerye are in unison in saying that the scene could be scripted but not the poem, not the tears, not the stares and definitely not the hugs.
