Actress singer Mariah Carey had a disastrous New Year’s Eve performance at Time Square on December 31, 2016 in New York City. Mariah started out well with her rendition of the song “Auld Lang Syne.”
The trouble began when she was supposed to start singing her 1991 hit “Emotions.” It seems some technical problem happened as Mariah can be heard saying “We can’t hear.” Mariah can also be heard on stage saying “I’m trying to be a good sport here” and “I want a holiday too, can I not have one?”

After the performance, Mariah went to Twitter and tweeted the following:
