“WalangForever” set to compete at Osaka Asian Fim Festival

Director Dan Villegas’ entry “#WalangForever” at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2015 is set to go international and compete at the 11th Osaka Asian Film Festival (OAFF) 2016 in Japan from March 4 to 13, 2016.

The film was the runaway winner in the recently conducted MMFF 2015 and bagged a total of 6 awards namely Best Picture, Best Story, Best Screenplay as well as the FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence. In addition, lead casts Jericho Rosales and Jennylyn Mercado brought home the Best Actor and Actress awards.

#WalangForever instantly connected with the viewers because of its relatable title.

The movie is about Mia (played by Jennylyn Mercado), a famous romantic-comedy film writer who meets Ethan (Jericho Rosales). After Mia and Ethan’s failed relationship, he returns and they find themselves reconnecting with each other.

In addition, two more Filipino films were selected to take part in the said festival namely Ralston Jover’s “Hamog” and Prime Cruz’s “Sleepless.” Erik Matti’s “Honor Thy Father” will also be shown in the festival’s New Action section.
