Twitter VP Rishi Jaitly confirms the AlDub tweets are authentic

In an interview with Rappler CEO and executive editor Maria A. Ressa, Twitter Asia Pacific and Middle East Vice President Rishi Jaitly confirms the AlDub tweets were indeed authentic.

Last September 26, 2015, the #AlDubEBForLove generated over 25.6 tweets from 12:00 AM to 11:00 PM. There were those who doubted the result, to the extent of saying the tweets were manipulated.

Rishi said the tweet volumes were authentic and called the AlDub tandem a “global phenomenon.”

Rishi also said the 25.6 tweets of AlDub is a couple of million short of the record set by the Super Bowl XLIX back in February 2015 which is 28.4 global tweets.
