Celebrity couple Maricel Laxa and Anthony Pangilinan cooperated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Anti-Cybercrime Group to arrest the person behind their fake Facebook accounts through an entrapment operation on Tuesday (June 7, 2016).
According to a report by Maan Macapagal which aired on ABS-CBN’s evening news program, ‘Bandila’ on Wednesday (June 8, 2016), actress Maricel Laxa and her husband Anthony Pangilinan shared in a press conference that their children, too, have fake accounts aside from Maricel’s.

Moreover, the couple shared that the poser extorted money from their friends and relatives for the past four years. If not asking for donations and load, the poser have told their friends and relatives that the money being asked will be used in various activities such as a ‘Benguet Foundation and Outreach’ and their child’s graduation.
On the other hand, the suspect was arrested upon claiming the mark money used during the PNP ACG’s entrapment operation on Tuesday (June 7, 2016). The suspect was identified as Myca A. Aranda, a 19-year-old college student.
