The Sandiganbayan Fourth Division has allowed businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles to post bail for her plunder case in relation to her alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam.
Napoles was allowed to post bail for the amount of P500,000.00.
The court granted the bail due to weak evidence against Napoles.
“Wherefore, considering that there is a finding that the evidence of guilt of accused Lanete and accused Napoles is not strong for the reasons cited above, the respective applications for bail of accused Lanete and Napoles are hereby granted,” read the resolution.
Despite the bail, Napoles will not be released because she is serving a life sentence at the Correctional Institute for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City.
