President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo met for the first time in Camp Aguinaldo for the change of command ceremony of the Armed Forces of the Philippines AFP).
The two shook hands and exchanged pleasantries with one another but were seated one seat apart. There was even an instance when President Duterte offered VP Leni a juice drink.
After the event, VP Leni said in an interview that she requested President Duterte for a meeting and the President replied “anytime”.
