“Miss Universe 2015” Pia Wurtzbach firmly stood her ground when it comes to promoting her advocacy, when she called out The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local media for exposing the HIV status of suspected drug users.
According to the post of the beauty queen, during a recent drug raid by PDEA they arrested 11 suspected users who are all allegedly gay. During their operation, they also found out that one of them is HIV positive.

After the operation, PDEA and local media decided to expose the names, mugshots, and even HIV status of the arrested suspects.
Pia who is a well-known ally of the LGBT community and advocate against AIDS and HIV was then furious by PDEA and media’s decision to expose the suspects disease to the public.
Pia stated that she supports punishing the suspects for their crimes, however it was unnecessary to shame them for having HIV. She added that exposing it would only add further misconceptions about the LGBT and HIV to the public.
