Last November 28, 2014, the legendary basketball player Samboy Lim collapsed during an exhibition game at the Ynares Sports Arena; Samboy then was rushed at the Medical City Hospital and remains in a comatose state.
According to reporter Quinito Henson, Samboy may be discharged from the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit soon and moved to a regular room or possibly may be allowed to return home.
Tests results shows that Samboy’s brain is active but brain waves are moving slowly. He also shown signs of pupil reactivity and yawning while his blood pressure remains stable and vital organs are functioning.
PBA players are now considering a charity game to raise funds for the large amount of hospital bills.
The game would compose of PBA legends like Alvin Patrimonio, though the specific participants of the teams are not yet named.
Alvin said that the fund raising game could take place sometime between the 2014-2015 PBA Philippine Cup playoffs.
