NLRC orders Ricky Reyes to pay HIV positive employee 600K in discrimination case

Celebrity hairdresser Ricky Reyes and his associates were ordered by the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) to pay a former employee Renato Nenacos a total of P615,313 in a discrimination case filed by Renato.

The ammount represents salary differentials, emergency cost of living allowances, mandatory 13th month pay, separation pay and attorney’s fees.

Renato claimed that he was fired by Ricky after he was tested positive for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Aside from the discrimination case, Renato also filed a separate grievance for non-payment of social security and health benefits.

In an interview with DZBB, Ricky’s legal counsel said they have filed an appeal for the said case.
