The program Your Face Sounds Familiar is about talent and personality, but last night’s episode (April 25, 2015) is a bit different – it’s all about heart and love.
Tears starts to fall when Maxene Magalona came out on stage to impersonate her father – the master rapper Francis Magalona. All three judges – Jed Madela, Gary V and Sharon Cuneta got emotional while watching Maxene singing “Mga Kababayan Ko”.
“I just want to say that your dad is one of the most iconic Filipino performers ever. He will live on not just because through memory but because of you.” said Jed Madela.
“Medyo emotional sa akin kasi ‘yung mga videos na pinapalabas nila is the performance kung saan nag-guest siya sa concert ko. So talagang parang it’s deja vu. It’s an experience for me right now” said Gary V. who went on stage to give Maxene a tight hug.
For her part, Sharon said “he was icon in the whole Philippine music industry — he loved the country, he showed it, he fought for it, and he loved his craft. I always say na gustong-gusto ko ‘yung personality ni Maxene because I see your dad’s humility, his heart — please keep that, please don’t let this business change you,” Cuneta said.
