Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella denied reports that President Rodrigo Duterte gave the ‘go-signal’ to execute of detained overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Mary Jane Veloso.
In a report by Willard Cheng for ABS-CBN News, Abella said President Duterte told President Widodo the following statement:
“Follow your own laws and I will not interfere.”
Mary Jane Veloso was arrested at Adisucipto Airport in Yogyakarta in April 2010 after authorities found heroin in her luggage.
