Actress Denise Laurel wowed Gary V, Jed Madela and Sharon Cuneta for her stellar impersonation of broadway star Lea Salonga. Both Gary and Sharon said it was a “perfect” performance and Jed said “you sounded like her, you looked like her, and even you projected like her.”
Denise cannot control her tears after singing “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal” as Lea Salonga.
She may not have won the 5th week of “Your Face Sounds Familiar”, Denise got the next best prize – a compliment from Lea herself.
On her Twitter account, Lea complimented the performance of Denise by tweeting:
“I couldn’t stop smiling watching this. @D_laurel, you made me so proud!!! Yes, @GaryValenciano1, I’m in NY.”
Denise tweeted back and thanked Lea for tuning in:
“d_laurelI never knew it could be possible for me to be speechless twice in a row.. Lol I just wanna say Thankyou @msleasalonga for tuning in! That was merely an impression of u and no one could ever come close to the real thing 🙂 …giving it all I’ve got would just be equivalent to the talent uve got on ur right pinky finger! haha thanks for always being an inspiration! Xo to NYC!”

Sam Concepcion was declared the winner for the fifth week of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” for his impersonation of Filipino rocker Dong Abay.
