Miss Universe host Steve Harvey initially announced Miss Colombia as the winner of the pageant—making Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach the first runner-up—but a few moments after, he returned on stage to apologize for declaring the wrong winner.
Despite the confusion, Kris said she was confident that Pia will be crowned as Miss Universe 2015 based on her answer in the Question and Answer portion of the pageant.
“True naman, nasa iyo na ‘yung korona, kinuha pa. Pero doon sa sagot naman, magpakatotoo tayo. Tayo ‘yung maganda
‘yung sagot.”
Steve Harvey personally apologized to Pia and even extended his apologies to Miss Philippines, Miss Colombia, and all the viewers and supporters of Miss Universe on social media.
