Followers of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte are not giving up hope that there is still a chance that Mayor Duterte will still have a change of heart and run for President in 2016.
In a report by GMA Davao, Duterte was quoted saying “People are again speculating on a candidacy come December during the substitution month. Para matapos na lang, wala nang ingay, o sige — tingnan natin sa Disyembre.”
Under the rules of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), a candidate may voluntarily withdraw and be substituted by a party mate on or before December 10.
