Goodbye Nike – Hello Under Armour for Manny Pacquiao?

At the height of the Manny Pacquiao controversial same-sex marriage video, Nike ended its sponsorship deal with the boxing champ. The sportswear company said they firmly object to discrimination ‘of any kind’.

In an article published by Spin.ph, an aide of Manny posted photos showing the Filipino boxer wearing Nike’s rival brand “Under Armour” – specifically a red pair of Steph Curry Under Armour Anatomix Spawn shoes.

But Pacquiao’s showbiz manager and endorsement agent Arnold Vegafria was quick to clarify that there is no agreement with Under Armour on a new endorsement deal.

“We haven’t struck a deal with Under Armour, although I can say we are already in the middle of negotiations with different sports apparel brands,” said Vegafria.
