Filipino athletes wear national flag upside-down at SEA Games

Filipino sprinters were seen wearing their uniforms with our national flag upside-down. Filipinos back home are asking what happen and who is responsible for this error. Netizens are asking – are we at war?

If the Philippine flag was shown with the red part at the top and the blue at the bottom, it indicates the country is at war.

Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (Patafa) president Philip Ella Juico said it is the fault of the suppliers and the athletes should not be blamed for the incident.

“This was an error of the supplier which we have corrected. The supplier is making a public apology accepting the fact that they made a mistake.” said Juico.

Eric Cray and Kayla Richardson (who was seen wearing the inverted flag) bagged the gold medal for winning the 100-meter events in the 28th SEA Games in Singapore.
