On Thursday night (May 5, 2016), ABS-CBN aired a 30-second political advertisement against Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte. The said ad showed some previous controversial speeches and statements of the mayor being repeated by young children.
The said airing of the ad brough an uproad to the online community.
In a statement released by ABS-CBN, the network said it had nothing to do with the production of the political ad, and that it was “duty-bound to air a legitimate ad.”
