With a half of Filipino blood running through her veins, international singer Nicole Scherzinger learned a lot about her Filipino heritage as she enjoys her stay here in the Philippines.
Some of the highlights of her stay here was her tour around Intramuros together with Apl.de.ap and celebrity tour guide Carlos Celdran, she also performed a Valentine’s show at Chaos in City of Dreams Manila last February 14, 2015.

Apl.de.ap shared with ABS-CBN news that Nicole got in touch with him and told him about his visit to the Philippines.
“She actually texted me when she was on her way. She was like, ‘I’m going to be there. Can you show me around and can we hang out?’ I took her to Intramuros. My friend, she gave me the idea of taking her there and learn about our history. Even I was learning about our history,” Apl.de.ap said.
But the most important reason why Nicole visited was because of her charity mission, an awareness campaign led by the United Nations Children’s Fund or UNICEF, Nicole visited and spent time with less fortunate kids and families of the Baseco compound in Tondo, Manila.
Nicole shared her heartfelt experience with the children in Baseco in her Instagram account.
“Such an honor and blessing to spend time w/ these beautiful children, esp this lit’ one today. Despite tough conditions these kids are so inspiring! @Unicef_UK@unicefphils #inspiration #educate #awareness #pinay” captioned Nicole in one of her post.
She also described the children as beautiful and full of life.
Apl.de.ap also shared that Nicole told him how good it felt that even though the children are in that situation, they still have smiles on their faces.
“There’s so much hope and she would like to do more in the future” Apl.de.ap said.
