It seems that the singer from Korea is the one who broke the internet and not Kim Kardashian after all.
Psy’s hit song ‘Gangnam Style’ reached 2,147,483,647 views on YouTube, yes that’s a billion views. This number is the maximum countable views for YouTube using a 32-bit integer.
“We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer,” YouTube, which is owned by search engine giant Google, said in an article posted on Google+.
With these views, it means that Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ was already watched by one-third of the world’s population.
But, engineers from YouTube had anticipated this and already upgraded to a 64-bit integer, this means that YouTube sensational videos views can now be countable up to sextillion views.
We wonder what video could reach that sextillion views?!
