Pop singer Selena Gomez diagnosed with lupus

Selena Gomez revealed she was diagnosed with lupus, and underwent chemotherapy. In an interview with Billboard magazine, Selena said that she waited to be confident and comfortable again to reveal the truth.

“I was diagnosed with lupus, and I’ve been through chemotherapy. That’s what my break was really about. I could’ve had a stroke.“ said Selena.

According to the Lupus Foundation of America, Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years.

During her guesting on the Ellen De Generes show, Selena said:

“I think it was just very complicated because I didn’t understand and then that was something that I did want to keep private until my whole life suddenly wasn’t private.”
