Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte officially joined the presidential slate for the upcoming presidential elections in 2016.
On Friday (November 26, 2015), Duterte—through a representative–filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for president at the Commission on Elections main office in Intramuros, Manila.

An Instagram post by GMA News depicts the actual COC of the presidential aspirant.
In addition, Duterte’s daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio posted a photo on her personal Instagram account asking for the people’s support for his father. In the same post, Sara mentioned they are relying on the public’s votes, for they are financially incapable of funding her father’s presidential campaign.
