For it’s 30th year, the Independent Spirit Awards announced last November 25, 2014 in Los Angeles that Lav Diaz’s “Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan” is nominated for the Best International Film category.
The Independent Spirit Awards is a non-profit organization that gives honor to independent film and independent filmmakers.
Lav Diaz’s masterpiece already won several awards such as Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Actress for Angeli Bayani at the 44th Gawad Urian Awards.
The movie is also Philippines’ official entry to the 87th Academy Awards.
