MMFF 2014 breaks records with P1B earnings at box office

As of January 5, 2015, the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival [MMFF] already earned P949 million nationwide.

This broke all previous box office records of the 40 year old event just after 12 days in theaters.

The previous MMFF of 2013 earned P936 million in the same time frame.

With this year’s MMFF eight entries, Metro Manila Development Authority [MMDA] chairperson Francis Tolentino shared with ABS-CBN News that “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” remains the top-earning entry, followed by the horror sequel “Feng Shui,” Vic Sotto and Ryzza Mae Dizon’s “My Big Bossing,” and the romantic-comedy “English Only, Please.”

Though the 40th MMFF has officially ended, Chairperson Francis Tolentino also said that moviegoers can expect extended screenings of entries that continues to produce ticket sales.
