During an interview with SiriusXM radio show last March 11, 2015, the international singer Madonna admitted that she was sexually assaulted at the age of 19 when she was starting to pursue a singing career in New York, USA.
The singer narrated the moment that led to the attack, she revealed: “I was going to a dance class and the door was locked and I needed money for the pay phone. [A man] gave it to me. He was a very friendly guy. I trusted everybody”.

Madonna said the man told her she could make the call from his house, and once she was there, she was raped at knife point.
The international star also shared that she decided not to press charges because according to her, she felt humiliated.
“I was told that if I wanted to press charges, [I’d have to do a] physical examination, I have to go before the court, they are going to ask you all these personal questions. You’ve already been violated…So then do you want to talk about it? Do you want to make it public? No, it’s just not worth it. It’s too humiliating,” the legendary pop star narrated.
Though she went through such tragic incident, Madonna manages to get up on her feet. She still did not hesitate to make it big in the music industry. She is a strong woman indeed.
