In recent reports, Gretchen Barretto, the aunt of young actress Julia Barretto, had admitted that she received an invitation for her niece’s 18th birthday celebration, but Gretchen said that she is not sure if she will be attending the said party.
Julia’s debut will be on March 10 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Julia did not just invited Gretchen Barretto, she also asked her aunt Claudine Barretto to be present on her debut in the hopes that it might be the way for their reconciliation.

During the press launch of Julia’s debut last March 4, 2015, the young actress said that it is one of 18 wishes that her aunts and her mother will soon settle the misunderstandings they have. She said that she wants to believe that it is the purpose of her debut that her aunts and her mother will soon make amends.
“I can’t force anything to happen. It’s my special day; I want everybody to be there. If that’s the reason [for them to finally settle the misunderstandings they have] then good,” Julia said.
The rift between the Barretto sisters started when Marjorie supported the claims of Raymart Santiago, Claudine’s ex-husband, that she is mentally ill and has a history of drug abuse. Marjorie, Gretchen and their brother JJ, also supported Raymart’s claims against Claudine.
Julia’s 18th birthday will be filmed and will be featured as a TV special on March 29, 2015 entitled “Just Julia, Beautiful at 18”.
