Julia Barretto made an announcement that she will withdraw her petition to change her surname and will retain Baldivia as her last name, but her father Dennis Padilla said Julia has done nothing about it and the petition is still pending before the courts.
In an interview with entertainment site Pep.ph Julia admitted that as a daughter she was hurt by her fathers statement that she is not doing anything about the petition.

“May ginawa naman ako about it, sa totoo lang nag-stick talaga ako sa word ko, pero hindi kasi ako mahilig mag-spill ng mga problemang pamilya kasi hindi tama na ibinu-broadcast, “uttered Julia.
She stressed that there are always two sides to every story and shared that she is hurt when his father talks about the issue in public.
“Ano naman kasi ang maitutulong at maidudulot yung pagse-share pa sa publiko?” explained Julia.
“Love ko yung Papa ko, pero bilang anak, nasaktan din ako, parang feeling ko, yung father dapat last na magsasalita, third time na rin, hindi ko na alam kung paano ako magre-react kasi pangatlo na ring beses, naiintindihan ko, pero masakit para sa isang anak,” the young actress added.
