“Honor Thy Father” lead cast and co-producer John Lloyd Cruz headed to the House of Representatives on Wednesday (January 13, 2016) to give his official statement with regards to the case filed by their camp against the festival’s committee.
In a report by ABS-CBN TV Patrol, the award-winning actor clarified the reason behind the producers, cast, and director’s decision to pursue the case by saying,

“I’m not saying na kung hindi kami nadisqualify, mananalo kami. We don’t know that. Wala namang nakakaalam nu’n e. “Pero ang alam ko lang dahil sa disqualification natanggalan kami ng opportunity, ng pagkakataon para malaman kung paano magperform ‘yung aming pelikula sa panlasa nila.”
Moreover, the actor stood firm on his decision to reject the award supposing that he won the Best Actor award.
“Honor Thy Father” got disqualified at the Best Picture category in the recently held Metro Manila Film Festival 2015.
