After the screening of Angelina Jolie’s new film entitled ‘Unbroken’ at the Vatican, the international star met the People’s Pope, Pope Francis last January 8, 2015.
According to Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi, Angelina had a short private meeting with the Pope at the throne room in the papal palace; the actress kissed the pope’s ring and was presented with a rosary by Francis.
The actress was with her brother and her daughters Shiloh and Zahara during the meeting.
‘Unbroken’ was screened for priests and nuns in a patrician villa in the Vatican which houses the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
The movie is about the true story of Olympic athlete Louis Zamperini, his Christian conversion after he survived a plane crash as a World War II bombardier and as a prisoner of war.
‘Unbroken’ is directed by Angelina Jolie.
