“I hate seeing artists lip-syncing on TV. Yung iba nagkaka-album pa. That’s my opinion guys. Thanks for understanding.” These are young singer Rhap Salazar’s tweets last Sunday (July 5, 2015).
It seems that the young singer could not help but express his disappointment on how the local music industry works; wherein artists’ lip-syncing on television were the ones being given the opportunity to release albums instead of “real singers”.

The said tweet gained contradicting reactions and opinions among netizens including the local industry’s veteran singers Lea Salonga and Gary Valenciano. Showtime hosts Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis also gave their opinion on the said issue.
On his Twitter account, Rhap wrote, “Whoa! The issue’s getting massive. Chill people. It’s just a tweet. Don’t worry! I’ll answer all your questions soon.”
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Rhap explained his sentiments. He said, “Nung time na nag-tweet ako, ‘yon ‘yung nae-express ko talaga, kung ano talaga ‘yung na-feel ko kasi ‘di ba normal teenager, mabilis ka mag-react sa mga bagay and most of them you post it dun sa mga social media.”
“In-explain ko lang ‘yung side ko as a singer. Sa mga tao po na nagtanggol — hindi naman ‘kumampi,’ kumbaga pareho kami ng pananaw. Happy naman po ako kasi kung ano man ang na-feel ko as a singer, na-feel din nila,” added Rhap.
When asked about how he feels on bashes against him, Rhap said, “Kanya-kanya naman tayo ng opinion. Sa mga bashers and other negative comments, I’m sobrang open-minded naman po akong intindihin lahat.”
Rhap is currently in California, U.S.A., mentoring the country’s representatives to the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA), an international talent competition. It could be remembered that he won junior champion in 2009 on the said competition.
