Kapamilya televiewers noticed the sudden change in some of the segments of the longest-running noontime variety show every Sunday. Martin Nievera took to Twitter his sentiments and asked “What has happened to the noon time shows on Sunday?”
Although the Concert King did not directly mentioned ASAP 20 on his tweet, he replied to a comment from his follower.

It seems that the “trend” they were referring to is ASAP’s insertion of games in the show’s format such as “Pa-Nae Nae boys versus Pabebe girls” and “Karaokey Challenge”.
With this, another follower expressed that there is “no need to follow the trend” to which Martin agreed.
Meanwhile, another follower said that “it was not the kind of ASAP they want.” Martin told the said follower that he also feels the same.
Many also noticed that the show inserted musical short skit including this week’s Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano’s “Ibong Adarna” love story.
“what happened po? Bakit pati asap parang naging sitcom/musical?”
“same question here sir…we tuned in to ASAP coz the others became similar to the weekday shows…but ASAPs going there too?”
“it became a gameshow & comic skit show.. Hope ASAP will stick to its original theme.”
In the end, Martin told the netizens in a separate tweet that “there is always room for experiment & competition.” He wrote:
“Everyone relax pls! Asap has been there for 20 years. There is always room for experiment & competition. Let the games begin. Fear not all!”
