Miss Universe 1973 Maria Margarita Roxas Moran-Floirendo more popularly known as Margie Moran commended BB. Pilipinas Universe Maxine Medina for doing her best but felt that she should’ve used the interpreter in answering the question given to her during the Q&A portion.
“She did the best she could. To me sana, nag-answer na lang siya sa Tagalog. I think she would’ve been more comfortable because ‘di siya nag-interpreter,” Moran said in an interview aired on GMA News 24Oras.

Maxine was able to make it to the Top 6 but failed to reach the Top 3 which went to Ms. France, Ms. Colombia, and Ms. Haiti. Miss France Iris Mittenaere was declared Miss Universe 2016.
