Leila de Lima ordered arrested over drug charges

Former Justice Secretary and now Senator Leila de Lima, a staunch critic of President Rodrigo Duterte, was ordered arrested on Thursday, February 23, over her alleged involvement in illegal drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison, according to a report by CNN Philippines.

Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 ordered to issue an arrest warrant against De Lima.

The Department of Justice filed three cases against De Lima for allegedly violating the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.

De Lima said that she was already ready for the worst case-scenario last week. De Lima has consistently denied the allegations that she was involved in the illegal drug trade to fuel her campaign.
