Is there competition between Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz?

Local showbiz industry’s finest actors Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz will star in a film entitled “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis.”

One can predict success for the said movie as director Lav Diaz and producer Paul Soriano also collaborate for the said film.

With award-winning stars Piolo and John Lloyd as part the movie, one could also foresee that an acting showdown might be seen on the big screen. Now, the question is – Is there a competition between them?

In an article published by Star Cinema, Piolo said that they are not outshining each other.

“Hindi naman [kami nagsasapawan]. At the end of the day, it’s not about that. It’s about giving our best because it’s our obligation as actors.” Piolo said.

“Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” is about the search for Andres Bonifacio’s remains. According to Piolo, the movie features a nice mix of literature, mythical creatures and fiction. He also revealed that he will be portraying El Filibusterismo’s Simon Ibarra while John Lloyd will portray the character Isagani.

Lav Diaz is the director behind the award-winning films like Norte Hangganan ng Kasaysayan, Century of Birthing, Woman of The Wind (Babae ng Hangin), etc.

The cast of the said movie includes Cherie Gil, Bernardo Bernardo, Alessandra de Rossi, Sid Lucero and Angel Aquino, among others.
