Anti-drug group wants One Direction to undergo Drug Test

One of the hottest boy bands in the whole world, the group One Direction is coming to the Philippines to perform for their Filipino fans on March 21, 2015.

But an anti-drug advocate group known as ‘Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino’ is asking the Bureau of Immigration to require members of the said boy band to undergo drug test first before their concert. The advocate’s group member Ferdinand Magisa said that this test is for the well-being of One Direction’s fans which are consisting mostly of young Filipinos.

The drug test for the band members was asked by the given advocate group due to a leaked video of One Direction members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson smoking what said to be marijuana, the video circulated online.

“If they want the concert to push through, the members should take a drug test as soon as they arrive at Ninoy Aquino International Airport before us and the media,” Jonathan Morales, the group’s spokesperson said in a statement.

Meanwhile fans of the band protest with this condition, Directioners made “#StopTheDRUGTESTfor1DPH” a trending topic on social media, a Filipino fan posted on Twitter when One Direction participated in the country’s post Haiyan or Yolanda telethon for typhoon relief, urged their fans on social media to make donations to the cause.

“The Gov’t are forgetting that these boys used their image to help us out when we needed it” the Filipino fan posted.
