Actress Angel Locsin thanked all her fans and followers for their undying support and prayers for her to get well to be able to play the iconic role of ‘Darna.’ But unfortunately she can no longer do the role due to her health condition.
In a TV interview aired on ABS-CBN nightly show “Tonight With Boy Abunda”, Angel shared her frustrations with the development but said she feels its time for her to let go of the role.

“Mahirap ho para sa’kin dahil napakaimportante sa’kin ng proyekto, at nababasa ko ‘yung mga comments ng tao, ‘yung mga sumusuporta, ‘yung mga nagdadasal na magawa ko pa ‘yung role. Gustung-gusto ko pa sanang gawin talaga for them. Pero hindi na ho siguro talaga kaya. Kailangan na ho siguro talaga nating bitawan.” said Angel.
Angel assured her fans that she is in good action and can still do action roles but not as strenuous as the requirement of ‘Darna.’
“Okay naman ako, hindi naman ako baldado. Makakagawa pa naman ako ng action projects, hindi lang ho siguro ‘yung same requirement as Darna,” added Angel.
On her Instagram account, Angel posted an art image of Darna with the following message:
