Tatay Benjamin asked Vice Ganda a.k.a Madam Bertud on Showtime’s segment, Advice Ganda for his solution on dealing with his longing for his children whose currently working in Dubai, Canada and Hong Kong. “Nalulungkot po ako at nangungulila dahil ‘yung mga anak kong tatlo, wala na ho rito. Nandoon po sila sa labas ng Pilipinas,” the old man said.
Vice Ganda, became emotional as he reminisced his relationship with his late grandfather, Gonzalo Dacumos, who died last year. It could be remembered that Vice apologized to the ABS-CBN management for his prolonged absence in the afternoon show to spend time with his grandfather.
Vice Ganda admitted that he could not provide Tatay Benjamin with a good suggestion, “Hindi ko talaga alam kung anong ibibigay ko sa inyong advice, hindi ko naman na pwede ma-obliga o sabihin ko sa mga anak nyo na, Oy, please take time para bisitahin nyo naman yung tatay nyo. Magiging napaka ipokrito ko kasi hindi ko yun ginawa dati.”

He said he felt guilty because he prioritized his work over his family. He added, “Sa dami ng obligasyon ko, sa dami ng priorities ko, gusto ko magpasaya ng audience ko, pero hindi ko alam, kung uunahin kong pasayahin yung audience ko o pasasayahin yung lolo ko?… Hindi ko na alam kung anong ipa prioritize ko kaya baka ganun din yung nangyayari sa mga anak nyo kaya hindi ko sila pwedeng husgahan.”
Vice Ganda was unable to hold his tears when he turned to his mother, Rosario Viceral from the audience. He said, “Hindi ko gustong maramdaman ‘yan ng nanay ko.”
“I’m sorry. I am trying my best, pero minsan hindi ko talaga kaya. I’m sorry. I’m trying as much as I can to make you proud. Kaya kitang mabilhan ng bahay, ng magandang kotse. Pero nahihiya ako na hindi kita mabigyan ng oras. I’m sorry,” Vice Ganda added as Jugs and Teddy comforts him.
Vice Ganda then invited Tatay Benjamin, “Mamaya kakain kami ng nanay ko. Gusto nyo ho bang sumama sa min?,” then the audience claps. He also thanked the old man, “Salamat po kasi kinalabit nyo po ako ngayong araw na to,” as the audience claps.
“Kasi pwede tayong makahanap ng pamilya sa labas ng mga bahay natin. Pwede tayong makahanap ng nanay mula sa mga kapatid natin. Pwede tayong magkaron ng tatay mula sa ibang tao. Pwede kang magkaron ng anak sa akin. Hindi po yung bubuntisin nyo ko. Hindi po yun ah,” he added, as the audience laughs. “Iyong oras na hindi mabigay sa ‘yo ng mga anak mo for now, ako muna ang magbibigay.”
On this Instagram account, Vice Ganda shared a photo of him with family and Tatay Benjamin. The photo comes with this message: “This man is an angel in disguise. He touched and awakened not just me but so many people who were able to hear his story… I love him. I love every parent most especially my NANAY. God bless all the parents!”
