People were ecstatic upon hearing the news that undedeated champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. has agreed to fight pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao. But boxing fans were also in shocked to find out that the tickets for the mega fight could reach as high as PhP 400,000.00+ and even more.
It was announced that the ticket price may be at the range of $1,500 (Php 66,000) to $7,000 (Php 308,000) at face value. This will result in a total gate receipts of around $40 million (PhP 1,760,000,000) for the 16,800-seat MGM Grand Garden Arena where the fight will be held.
But on the secondary market like SeatGeek, seat listed for the fight is $4,116 (Php 181,104) with a median price of $9,218 (Php 405,592). Floor seats start at $22,441 (Php 987,404).
Celebrities can get free tickets but they should be willing to endorse specific company merchandise, in particular t-shirts with logos and names.
