The salutatory address of Krisel Mallari, a high school salutatorian of the Santo Niño Parochial School was interrupted by school administrators before she can even finish her speech.
The school said the reason why they stopped Krisel from delivering her speech is because it was not the “welcome remarks” originally submitted to them ny the student. The school added that it is the policy of the school that only approved speeches will be allowed.
Krisel in her speech expresses her disappointment with the schools grading system. Krisel alluded to the fact that she in a way was robbed of the valedictorian honors when the school refused to show how they arrived with their respective grades.
Despite being interrupted, Krisel tried to deliver her message still but was again stopped by the school administrators. Here is the video:
Because of her speech, Krisel said her Best in Religion award was not given to her by the school.
Towards the end of her speech, Krisel said “I am Krisel Mallari, a Filipino citizen who would rather choose to fail with honor, than win by cheating”. The video now has more than 500,000 views.
