In commemoration of the birth of former President Manuel L. Quezon, August 19 is a special non-working Holiday to Quezon City based employees.
In an Instagram post by veteran actor Richard Gomez last August 19, 2015 he shared a photo of EDSA and to his surprise it was not noisy, it was not full of vehicles and his journey was smooth.

That is why he had an idea and shared in jest that the solution to our country’s problem with traffic is a City Holiday.
“Wow! Look at how Edsa is 1:52 pm. The solution to our traffic is a city holiday!” captioned Richard with his post.
