“This had nothing to do with race, color or gender.” – Erik Rosete on the issue about Filipinas being barred from walking at the LA Fashion show

Fashion designer and executive producer of LA Fashion Week Erik Rosete clarified the issue about seven Filipinas including Kiana Valenciano and former Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell being barred from walking at the said show.

Erik explained that the seven models were only barred from joining because Jacob Meir lied and stole money. Jacob Meir is the founder of For the Star Fashion House which regularly hosts showcases for Filipino designers and he was the one who invited the Kiana and the girls on said show.

“This had nothing to do with race, color or gender. This had to do with the fact that he (Meir) is a crook and a liar. He was collecting money from designers, sponsors and models on the side and trying to run a side business from our production, all while telling us he would pay us ‘one day,’” Erik said.
