Second youngest billionaire in the world is a Fil-Am

Forbes recently released their list of the world’s richest people in the world. Out of the 1,826, 46 are under the age of 40, and the second youngest billionaire on the list is actually a FIl-Am.

Bobby Murphy is estimated to be worth US$ 1.5 billion and he is the co-founder of SnapChat. Snapchat is a mobile app that allows users to send and receive “self-destructing” photos and videos. Photos and videos taken with the app are called Snaps. The sender determines how many seconds (1-10) the recipient can view the Snap before the file disappears from the recipient’s device.

Murphy grew up in Berkeley, California. His mother emigrated from the Philippines. Murphy took mathematical and computational science at Stanford University.

Snapchat’s Evan Spiegel, CEO of the photo messaging company is the world’s youngest billionaire is also estimated to be worth US$1.5 billion.
