On Sen. Revilla’s case, Sandiganbayan First Division withheld the motion because it cannot be considered as a “special circumstance” for it to be granted by the court.

“After weighing the arguments of the parties, the Court is of the view that the situation presented by the accused could not be considered a special circumstance that deserves exception to the general restriction on a detention prisoner’s rights. Thus the motion is denied.”

With regard to Sen. Estrada’s case refutation, Sandiganbayan Fifth Division defended that the plea can be regarded as “mockery of the administration justice” once approved.

“Suffice it to state that to allow the accused-movant to leave his detention cell, especially at this time when the Court already denied his petition for bail, will not only set a bad precedent but will likewise to regarded as a mockery of the administration of justice.”

Both Sen. Revilla and Sen. Estrada pleaded for a three-hour visit to Kuya Germs’ wake to extend their condolences to the family and loved ones of the veteran host.
